Tips for Making One Dry Mix for All of Your Fruit Cobbler Flavors

We prep 4-5 of these jars at once, and store them for use throughout the following months.

You can use any kind of fruit filling. For quick and easy, pair 1 cup of jam or jelly with 1 cup of diced fruit (either canned or fresh).

Here are a few of our favorite flavor combinations:

  • Strawberry jam with fresh chopped strawberries
  • Fig jam
  • Pear jelly with canned, cubed pears
  • Pumpkin puree with brown sugar
  • Blackberry jam with a handful of frozen blackberries (yep, you can use frozen fruit too!)

To Make Fruit Cobbler

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Dump your dry mix into a bowl. Cut up a stick of butter (room temperature), and add to your bowl. Using your fingers, mix the butter into the dry mix until you achieve a uniform, crumbly consistency.
  3. Pour half of the mixture into the bottom of an 8×8 baking dish, and press to form a solid layer.
  4. Add 2 cups of any kind of fruit, jam, or jelly. Spread evenly onto the bottom crumb layer. We love combining a cup of pear jam with a cup of cubed pears. A layer of strawberry jam with fresh chopped strawberries is delicious as well!
  5. Sprinkle the remaining half of the dry mix on top.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes. Enjoy!

Notes

Try topping with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
