Skip the bun but keep all the flavor with this Cheeseburger Salad Bowl. Seasoned ground beef, melted cheddar, crispy lettuce, tangy pickles, and a creamy special sauce come together in one satisfying bowl.

  • Total Time: 22 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

For the beef:

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 works best)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

For the special sauce:

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon dill pickle relish
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

For the salad:

  • 6 cups romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ red onion, thinly sliced
  • ½ cup dill pickles, chopped
  • 1 cup croutons (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and break it up with a wooden spoon.
  2. Season the beef with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beef is browned and cooked through.
  3. While the beef cooks, make the special sauce by whisking together the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle relish, garlic powder, and onion powder in a small bowl. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  4. Divide the chopped romaine lettuce among four bowls. This is your base.
  5. Top each bowl with a portion of the cooked ground beef while it’s still warm. The heat will slightly wilt the lettuce and start melting the cheese.
  6. Add the cherry tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, red onion, and pickles to each bowl. Sprinkle croutons on top if you’re using them.
  7. Drizzle the special sauce generously over each bowl. Serve immediately and let everyone mix their bowl to their liking.
