Ingredients
Scale
For the dip:
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons everything bagel seasoning, plus more for topping
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried dill
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped (or 1 tablespoon dried)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
For serving:
- Bagel chips, pita chips, crackers, or fresh vegetables
Instructions
- Make sure your cream cheese is actually soft. If you forgot to take it out of the fridge, microwave it for 15-20 seconds, but watch it—you want soft, not melted.
- In a medium bowl, mix the cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise together until smooth. A hand mixer makes this easier, but a fork and some determination works too.
- Add the everything bagel seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, dried dill, and black pepper. Mix until everything is well combined and you can see the seasonings distributed throughout.
- Stir in the fresh chives and lemon juice. The lemon brightens everything up and keeps it from tasting too heavy.
- Taste it. This is important. Add more seasoning if you want it bolder, or a pinch of salt if it needs it (though the everything bagel seasoning usually has plenty).
- Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and sprinkle extra everything bagel seasoning on top. This makes it look professional and gives people an idea of what they’re about to eat.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. This lets the flavors meld together. If you’re in a rush, you can serve it immediately, but it’s better after it’s had time to sit.
- Serve with bagel chips, crackers, pita chips, or cut-up vegetables. Carrots and bell peppers are surprisingly good with this.
