Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 3 tablespoons chia seeds
- 1 1/2 cups milk of choice (dairy, almond, oat, or coconut)
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (optional, for extra creaminess)
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
Topping ideas:
- Fresh berries or sliced banana
- A spoonful of peanut or almond butter
- Chopped nuts, coconut flakes, or granola for crunch
Instructions
- Add the rolled oats, chia seeds, cinnamon, and salt to a large jar or bowl and stir to combine.
- Pour in the milk, then add the Greek yogurt, maple syrup, and vanilla.
- Stir everything together until the mixture looks even and the chia seeds are spread throughout.
- Wait a couple of minutes, then give it one more good stir to break up any chia clumps that have started to gel.
- Cover the jar and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for the best texture.
- In the morning, stir the oats and check the thickness.
- If it feels too thick, loosen it with a splash of milk until it reaches the consistency you like.
- Divide into two bowls or jars, add your toppings, and serve cold, or warm it gently if you prefer it hot.
