Making your own tomato products at home using tomato powder is a simple, space-saving solution that adds freshness and convenience to your pantry. With just a few ingredients, you can easily whip up homemade tomato paste, sauce, juice, and even BBQ sauce!

1. Tomato Paste

  • 6 tablespoons tomato powder
  • ½ cup water

2. Tomato Sauce

  • 1⅓ cups tomato powder
  • 1 cup warm water
  • Salt and sugar (optional, to taste)

3. Tomato Juice

  • ½ cup tomato powder
  • 4 cups water
  • Salt (optional, to taste)

4. Homemade BBQ Sauce

  • ½ cup tomato powder
  • 1½ cups water
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ⅓ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon arrowroot powder (or cornstarch)

Instructions

Tomato Paste

  1. Mix the tomato powder with water.
  2. Stir until you reach your desired paste consistency. Adjust water as needed.

Tomato Sauce

  1. Combine the tomato powder with warm water.
  2. Stir until smooth, adding a pinch of salt and sugar to balance the flavors if desired.

Tomato Juice

  1. In a quart jar, mix the tomato powder with water.
  2. Shake well to combine. Add salt if you prefer more flavor.

Homemade BBQ Sauce

  1. In a saucepan, combine tomato powder and water.
  2. Add brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and lemon juice.
  3. Heat the mixture and bring it to a boil.
  4. To thicken, stir in arrowroot powder once the sauce reaches a boil. Continue boiling for desired thickness.
