Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ½ cups old-fashioned oats
- 3 ½ cups Rice Krispies
- 1 ½ cups chopped almonds
- ½ cup coconut sugar (you can use brown sugar or a mix of white and brown sugars if you prefer)
- ½ cup butter (1 stick)
- ½ cup coconut oil
- ½ tablespoon pumpkin pie spice (or you can use cinnamon)
- ½ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat Your Oven Start by preheating your oven to 250°F. Granola needs to cook low and slow to achieve that perfect crunch.
- Melt the fats in a small saucepan.
- Mix all of the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
- Drizzle the melted butter and coconut oil over the dry mixture. Stir thoroughly to ensure all the dry ingredients are evenly coated with the fats.
- Spread the granola mixture evenly onto a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 2 hours, stirring every 20 minutes to ensure even cooking and prevent burning.
- Once the granola is golden brown and crispy, remove it from the oven and let it cool completely. If you’re adding dried fruits or chocolate chips, mix them in once the granola has cooled.
- Store your homemade granola in an airtight container. It will keep well for about 2 weeks.
